We only accept submissions during our open reading periods. We aim to publish two issues a year online and in print. 
 
During submission periods, we welcome fiction in the form of poetry, short stories, flash fiction and novel extracts. Any genre is welcome, as long as the connection to sport is clear. We're also open to publishing reviews of sports fiction - novels, short story or poetry collections, films or TV series.

We do not accept work made in part or through AI.
   
Freedom to Roam acquires first publication rights and rights revert to author upon publication.
 
This is a passion project. For now, unfortunately, we cannot currently pay our writers. However, we read every piece with care, and will do our best to promote all featured writers over the long term. We hope to be able to compensate our writers in the future. And note, we do not charge a reading/submission fee.
